Star Trek movie debuts keitai katana

Anyone who saw the newest Star Trek movie were impressed by Sulu, played by John Cho, parachuting onto a dangling platform to fight toughies with an auto-folding katana blade. Unfortunately, he uses an inauthentic thru the chest stabbing blow to save Kirk at the last moment. The mainstay samurai sword was designed to slash and mortally wound while preserving the long, razor sharp edge. It appears the movie prop was intended to be used like a sharp rusty pole. 'Keitai' is sometimes used as a term for a mobile phone, but it really means portable - hence:

Keitai katana ga kawaii desu yo.
携帯 刀 が かわいい です よ。
Portable katanas are cute!
